Tower Theatre Wurlitzer

Tower Theatre 3/17 Wurlitzer, circa 1974. Terry Kleven at the console right after an Arrowsmith concert. Plywood shell was built to protect the console during rock concerts. I believe the organ went to a pizza restaurant in the 1970’s.

No, the organ was removed at the direction of manager Ben Zimmerman as the rock company wanted the chambers for their use. Anything that could have been damaged was to be removed and stored. When the theatre was sold, Zimmerman called my dad and said “well, you got yourself an organ.” I own the majority of the organ now. The parts left behind were sold on ebay back in 1998 and the buyer separated the console, blower, diaphones, and other pieces. I was able to get the wood diaphone back in 2025. It never went to a pizza parlor.
