Located on Toorak Road near Toronga Road, in the Hawthorn East district of Melbourne. The Toorak Drive-In opened on 8th November 1956 with Richard Todd in “The Dam Busters”. It was sited on top of a hill, on the site of a former brickworks site. The Toorak Drive-In was first operated by an independent, and in 1966 was taken by Hoyts Theatres, but re-named Village Drive-In and ran Village product so it would not directly compete with the Hoyts Skyline Drive-In just down the road.
The Village Drive-In closed on 18th March 1984. The site is has been demolished(date unknown?), and is now the headquarters for Coles. Only the entrance driveway remains used as the parking lot.

Correction – the entrance driveway, now the parking lot, has not been paved over.
850 cars. Closed on 18/3/1984
Operation taken over by Hoyts and Village in 1966. Advertised as Village from 1966 so as not to compete with the nearby Hoyts operated Skyline Drive-in in Burwood.
