The Union Theater Lichtspiel was opened in 1911. It was designed in a ‘Moderne’ style by architect Martin Pietzsch. Seating was provided for 750 on the orchestra level, and a series of boxes at mezzanine level seated 250.
The U.T. Theater was destroyed by the Allies when they fire bombed the city in February 1945.
