Barkly Theatre Acland Street and Barkly Street, St Kilda, VIC – Originally the Elite Skating Rink 1986.

Located in the south Melbourne district of St. Kilda. The Elite Skating Rink & Bioscope was opened in 1909 at the corner of Acland Street and Barkly Street. It was re-named Palais Cinema on 22nd March 1915. In January 1918 it was re-named Barkly Theatre and was closed around 1921 when the owner Marshall & Nelson opened their new Victory Theatre on the corner of Barkly Street and Carlisle Street.
