The Jefferson Amusement Co. opened the Lynn Theatre, designed by Leon C. Kyburz, on January 8, 1943.
On September 8, 1949, the Chronicle reported that the theatre would be closing indefinitely but there were no announcements that it ever opened again.
In September of 1954 Jefferson Amusement donated the building to the city and razing began in February with plans to erect a youth center on the site.
Film Daily Year Book 1947 lists the Lynn Theatre with 480 seats.
