The Avenue Theatre opened in downtown Yakima on July 24, 1926 by Bill Farrell. Completing a ten-year lease, the theatre closed briefly. Brown’s Circuit takes on the theatre with a grand opening in 1936 managed by Lee Bogart. The theatre closed in the TV era and was demolished along with the entire block many years later. A McDonald’s hamburger restaurant occupied the Avenue’s former spot in the 21st Century.
