The Flinders Drive-In opened on 27th February 1959 with Richard Todd in “A Man Called Peter. It was operated by Greater Union Theatre until 28th March 1984 when they closed it.
It was reopened by an independent operator later in 1984. It was closed on 19th December 1995 with Kevin Costner in “Waterworld”. The equipment went to the Cooper Pedy Drive-In when it reopened. The Flinders Drive-In screen came down in early-1996. The drive-in was demolished in 2008 and housing was built on the site in 2014.
