1B Mossman St
It opened in the 70’s and closed in 1986
It had 2 screens. It was often called the Sundown twin or just the Sundown
Site is now Doody Oval.
Its actually NOT Doody Oval, the ramps are still visible on Google Maps, It actually looks like private property now. The site is to the east of Doody Oval.
Looks small for a drive-in theatre(unless some of the ramps have been demolished, along with the bio box and ticket booth?). Is that possibly the snack bar on the north side of the ramps(top of photo), the two fences seem to come apart there(walkway to and from the snack bar building?)?
Looks like an entrance(or exit?) road to the left ot the(snack bar?) building?
I’d say looking further that the motorcycle training centre was the other half of the site, that building in the middle may have been where the snack bar building was. So yeah the remaining ramps are possibly all that’s left.
