Located just south of the south east corner of Smithfield Road and Dunstan Street, Wakeley(formaly called Fairfield West). The site is now Mary Mckilop College(named after Australia’s first Saint!).
Might’ve originally been called the El Rancho with a western theme? Staff were apparently dressed as cowboys and cowgirls and they had a “chuck wagon” to deliver meals to patrons.
Also known as El Rancho Drive-in.
Can’t remember the Chuck Wagon deliveries but it still had a (vague) western theme in the early 80’s with wagon wheels etc scattered around the site. Clearly remember seeing “Tron” there and “The Odd Angry Shot”.
Opened on March 21st, 1957.
Approximate address is now 5 Carnarvon St, Wakeley NSW 2176
