The Oakland Drive-In was opened on May 6, 1949 with Alan Ladd in “Wild Harvest”. It was operated by Siegel Thurman & Marshall Bottom. it was closed on October 20, 1985. The marquee and ticket booth entrance are still visible in 2018.

597 IN-57, Oakland City, IN 47660 is a little closer, marquee and ticket booth are still standing.

It opened 5/6/49 and closed 10/20/85 – per the area newspaper ads. A nice long run. Only saw one movie there, and remember the place as a very plain and basic operation – no frills at all.
