The Shandon Drive-In was opened on 22nd November 1961 with Debbie Reynolds in “Tammy”. It was independently operated by Maurice Henderson. In 1965 it was sold to another independent operator and was re-named Colac Drive-In.
The Colac Drive-In was closed on Easter Saturday 6th April 1985. The drive-in site was used as a lumber yard. By 2025 it was used by a landscaping company.

The site is now a lumber yard(name unknown?). The snack bar and bio-box is now used as a workshop. The screen frame us still, laying down on the ground. The ramps and entrance and exit roads may still be there?
The drive-in may still be listed on the town’s information tourist sign?
The site is now a landscapes supply company(Colac Landscape Supplies). The address is 75 Rossmoyne Road.
