Karrinyup Cultural Centre opened in September 1974(along with Karrinyup Public Library which it is attached to). Karrinyup Community Centre screened “World Safari” in 1977 or 1978, and “World Safari 2” in 1984(on it’s own, or with “World Safari”), and “World Safari 3” in 1987 (on it’s own, or with “World Safari” and “World Safari 2”). No other movie screenings known? The Karrinyup Community Centre(and Karrinyup Public Library) is still there(used for community events).

Karrinyup Community centre has one of the organs from the Metro Theatre in Perth, Western Australia. It is still used there sometimes for concerts.
I think the opening date was 21/9/1974.
Originally known as Karrinyup Cultural Centre.
My primary school(Carine Primary School) had a production(musical?) of Oliver in this building on 24th August 1981. One of the students acting in it was Lisa McCune(later in the Australian tv series Blue Heelers) in her acting debut(no idea what her role was though?)!!
The 4 glass and metal doors and 2 glass and metal walls between the Karrinyup Community Centre and Karrinyup Public library was demolished by a storm in(2011 or 2012?). Only the metal roof is still between the 2 buildings is still there. The 2 buildings were not damaged at all(I think?).
