Closed after a double feature of “Lively Set” and “McLintock” on June 19, 1966. Items were sold from the drive-in later that year.
The drive-in was still intact in 1988, although it had clearly closed long before that. By 1995, it had been completely demolished.
Today, the eastern half is part of the T.J. Brewer Recreational Park while the western half is overgrown with plenty of debris. There is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
Chester Smith and James Booze celebrated the launch of their Skyline Drive-In Theatre with a free screening n September 24, 1953. Portable heaters allowed it to operate year-round.
It appears that it opened in either 1953 or 1954, and was gone in the 1980s. Stacey Lane wasn’t even extended until after the demolition of the Skyline, as the closest address to the entrance was located on 6380 KY-38.
