I’m watching “Deathdream (aka Dead of Night) 1974” directed by Bob Clark (famous for Black Christmas and A Christmas Story) on Prime and the Drive-In is prominently displayed in the last 15 or so minutes of the film. Even more surprised to find out it was filmed in Brooksville, FL which is a 30 minute drive from me. Now there are some boring ‘ol Apartment Duplexes put in the drive-in’s former location. Gotta love “progress”. :(

Boxoffice, Dec. 10, 1955: “Brooksville, Fla. - The 200-car 41 Drive-In Theatre near here will soon have a screen measuring 68' wide by 50' high, believed to be the largest in the state for its capacity. The Ray Hatfield Construction Co., which is in charge of the work, is using the present screen as a bracing agent for the new widescreen.”

Because it was located near Hwy 41. Anytime you see a drive-in named with a number, it most likely the the route or street it was location on.
