Opened on 16th September 1937 as the Star Theatre. It once had a flat lower floor and angled upper mezzanine. Eventually they raised the lower floor to meet the mezzanine to make one slanted floor. When they turned it into two flat floors they uncovered the original staircase in pefect condition sealed into the walls. It later became the Village Devonport. By 1981 it was the Cinema One. It was still open in 1986 when it was operated by Village Theatres. It became a furniture store. By 2020 it was in use by the Salvation Army.
