Institute Hall opened in 1879. Rebuilt as Soliders Memorial Hall in 1924. Gutted by fire in 1934. Rebuilt and reopened on 26th May 1936 and renamed Civic Hall it was screening films by 1946. Renamed Civic Hall & Nautilus Theatre(date unknown?). Renamed Nautilus Arts Centre in 2001. Movies screenings started in 1960. Unknown if the movie screenings are still operating? The Nautilus Arts Centre is used for an art gallery, arts and crafts shop, concerts, (and live theatre?).
