Hello-

to people who have frequented this theater a question- how busy generally was this theater? the reason I ask is the two times i went to the modern state-of-the-art Landmark 57 St. there were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more staff than patrons.

LuisV, I hope it survives the bankruptcy. However I can understand why its always sold out. It don’t take much to sell out 43 to 143 seats. We go to a new Cinemark here in NJ and even on a slow Tuesday afternoon at 3 pm there could be 30 or more people in a show.

This has become my FAVORITE theater in the city. Though iPic has declared bankruptcy on the national level, the Financial District outlet is the highest grossing complex in the chain. I frequently see it sold out, when I look for tickets. Alamo Draft House, opening this summer a few blocks away will be a welcome addition to Luxury movie going, though the food will not be equal to what is available at iPic, which has a James Beard Award winning Chef at the helm.

It will be interesting if the evolving demographics of NYC can make a go of this…Manhattan remains badly underscreened
