Dakota Theatre

The Princess Theatre was opened in 1912. It was renamed Dakota Theatre in January 1931. By 1941 the Dakota Theatre was operated by Paramount Pictures Inc. through their subsidiary John Friedl. It was closed in 1953.

The Dakota was a storefront theater located across the street from the Granada and ran a steady program of westerns and B movies. It closed sometime in the late 40’s early 50’s and was reconverted to retail space.

This started life as the Princess Theatre in 1912, and was renamed the Dakota Theatre in January 1931.
