Five different nameplates were used in this location in Clarinda, all primarily as silent motion picture houses. The five were: •The Star Theatre launched on a snowy day in downtown Clarinda on February 15, 1913.
•E.M. Hackett and L.R. Taylor purchased the theatre later in the year rebranding it as the Delpheus Theatre opening on November 14, 1913.
•New operators on September 2, 1916 renamed it the Little Theatre.
•On September 5, 1917, William Swan took on the location changing it to the Swan Theatre. The Swan Theatre closed in 1924 but while the Armory Theatre needed some repairs, the Swan was used until 1925.
•In 1926, the owner of the Armory Theatre remodeled the theatre calling it the Palace Theatre for a period from July 8, 1926 - its grand opening - to February 3, 1929 as the Armory Theatre went to talking pictures. Later that year, the equipment is sold.
