The Olympia Theatre is remembered for two reasons: (1) It was the very first theatre in the Skouras Brothers Enterprises Circuit when they took on the theatre in 1912 near Union Station.
(2) It was closed in 1929 and demolished in 1930 to make way for the St. Louis' Municipal Auditorium in 1934 (later the Kiel and Peabody Opera House). The silent era theatre catered to African American audiences in its final years.
