The Queen Theatre opened in 1920 to replace the Princess Theatre that burned down. Competing against the Majestic Theatre on the Square, operators W. H. and Harry E. Lawrence bought out the Queen Theatre in 1930. They renamed it the Lawrence Theatre. They ran it less than two years closing in 1931.
