In 1923 Liggett N. Crim moved his Moxie Theatre buisiness on Longview Street to this new location on Rusk Street and it opened as the Dixie Theatre. He installed the ‘Dixiephone’ and it became the first theatre to show ‘talkies in Kilgore. Sometime between 1923 and 1931 it was renamed Crim Theatre. It was destroyed by fire in 1931.
