Kino Evald

In Prague city centre, Kino Evald was named in honour of Czech actor Evald Schorm. It shows a mixed programme of Czech and international films.

Operating corporation CINEMART was founded in 1992. The company has its headquarters in this building, from where it distributes films and co-produces Czech films. This small cinema was constructed in the basement in 1997. It has high quality seating, Dolby Stereo SR sound and air-conditioning. There is an adjoining restaurant.

Kino Evald became a member of the Europa Cinemas network in 2004. It is associated with three of the city’s other art house cinemas - Aero, Mat and Svetozor - in a project called Osa 9 (“Axis 9”, because they are linked by the number 9 tram service) which co-ordinates their programming.
