The Empire Cinema reopened on December 6, 2011 having been closed since 2003 for renovations. The three-screen cineplex seats 500, 250 and 150 in luxurious comfort with cutting edge Dolby 5.1 digital surround sound. The scheme was apparently halted at one point by the death of the owner’s father. Although the owner did not want to be identified at the time, it is known that Caribbean Cinemas’ Robert Caraday’s father died at roughly the same time. The facilities also include a sports bar.
