Cinema

Located in New Mills in the Derbyshire Peak District at 26-30 Union Road. The Cinema was opened in October 1922. It had a 22ft wide proscenium. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system around 1930. It was closed around September 1949, but was soon reopened. It was equipped with CinemaScope in 1955. It was closed in the mid-1960’s and became a Star Bingo Club, operated by the Leeds based Star Cinemas chain. The Cinema was demolished in the mid-1990’s and retail premises were built on the site.
