This was another of the King Brothers Theatres, located at the corner of Saint Stevens Road and West Clarke Avenue. It was an African-American theatre and was operated from 1945 to 1955. It was interesting because you entered through the building on the corner, paid at the box office, and turned left to go into the auditorium which was as wide as the entrance and the building next door. The first time I was at the building, it was closed, but the sign was still there. It has since been demolished.

I should have mentioned that the building has been demolished, and it is now a vacant lot across from the red brick structure.

The Carver was mentioned in the July 28, 1956 issue of Motion Picture Herald. It was owned and operated by a Mr. E. V. Landraiche, who also had theaters in Biloxi.
