This drive-in was on Wintzel Avenue across from Sutton Street, north of and on the same side as University Road. This is north of the Bayou La Batre bridge, but south of Padgett Switch Road. The screen stood along the road for a long time after the drive in closed, the office in the screen having been turned into a vegetable stand. A liquor store and a seafood company now occupy the site.

The correct address is 13135 Wintzell Ave Bayou La Batre, Alabama. Today, Boja’s Foods Inc. sits on the east side of the property while the west side is overgrown with trees. The drive-in was built after 1953, but you can see the remnants of the ramps in a 1997 photo.
There are no visible remains of the drive-in, although there might be ramps and foundations underneath the tree cover.

The current address is on the wrong side of the street. It “might” have been called the U Drive-In at one time.
I love this. I had little information on this drive in, but knew where it was and could find it on an old topo map. Now, here are two people who can add to my knowledge. Thank you both.
