Crescent Theater

The Crescent Theater was located at 681 Wabash Avenue and operated in the 1910’s. In 1911 it appears on the Sanborn fire insurance maps for Terre Haute as a “5 cent theater” located on the first floor. It was still open in 1927 but had closed by 1928.

This building still exists and houses the Crossroads Cafe in 2017. The original screen remains, covered for protection, on the back wall in the back room, used for storage by the cafe. (There is no public access to this part of the building.) The building itself dates from the 1860’s.
