For more than a hundred years this location is a meeting place for music, theater and film. Previous names: Ons Huis, ’t Venster Theater, Lantaren/Venster from February 1949. In 1972, International Film Festival Rotterdam saw the light of day here. Lantaren/Venster moved to a new location in 2010.

After a while the city sold the building to the current owners who reopened it as KINO Rotterdam in September 2016, after a huge renovation.
