There is no mention of a movie theatre in DeLand in the 1914-1915 edition of American Motion Picture Directory. The Gem Theatre was opened by January 1917 and the address given here is approximate. It is not listed in the editions of Film Daily Yearbook;s 1926-1929. In the 1931 edition of FDY there is a Business Men’s Association listed as a silent cinema. In the 1932 & 1933 editions it is listed as (Closed)
