Montauk Moving Picture Theatre

Located on Washington Street, opposite the Bulova Watchcase factory (converted into condominiums in 2011), the Montauk Moving Picture Theatre was opened in 1908. It was a success and in 1909 a 20ft extension was built to accomodate more patrons. It presented live entertanment as well as movies. It was closed in 1912 following an inciden when a small fire broke oke out in the building.

By 1913 the town also had an Airdome located on Main Street at Jermain Avenue.
