The Star Theatre was located in a converted retail store once housing Bressler Hardware. The Star Theatre opened January 6, 1911. The theatre had competition from the Opera House beginning in 1917. The Star Theatre went out of business in 1924.
New operators took on the Star Theatre remodeling it and changing it to the American Theatre in 1926. Long after converting to sound, the American Theatre was transferred to Tower Theater Company which changed its name to the Tower Theatre in 1937.
The Tower Theatre closed May 21, 1955 with Scott Brady in “They Wesre So Young”. A snow storm collapsed its roof in 1958 and - following a salvage sale - the theatre was demolished in 1960 for a post office still operating there in the 21st Century.
