Built and operated by Paul R. Hatch, the Hatch Theatre opened May 1, 1971, in downtown Wolfeboro, NH. It replaced on older rented area in the local Town Hall. Featuring many comforts for the locals and tourist patrons, it featured a red and blue color scheme in a Colonial style and much old movie theatre memorabilia. It played first-run films of interest to its large tourist population during the summer season, and was very much of a “community-effort” type operation.

Per “Senter Cove Guy” in a 2004 forum about Father John’s Pub in Wolfeboro: “I too, miss the Hatch Theatre. Paul Hatch had a quirk. He "collected” $50 bills. I know this because I once paid for admission with a $50 and he told me about his collection."
Also a 2013 obituary of Wolfeboro resident Henry S. Maxfield, whose book “Legacy Of A Spy” was made into a Yul Brynner film and premiered at the Hatch Theatre.
