Located in the Eixample section of the city centre. The Cinema Savoy was opened as a newsreel cinema on 28th September 1935. All seating was on a single floor. On 7th July 1940 it was re-named Cine Saboya and went over to screening feature films when “Peer Gynt” and “A Night of Love” were screened. On 1st September 1941 it reverted back to its original Cinema Savoy name.
By the 1960’s it was operating as an art house cinema. From 1978 to December 1983 it was operated by the Balana Groupand screened popular mainstream films. It then reverted back to art house fare under new ownership. It was closed on 1st July 2001 and has been converted into retail use, by 2018 a Longchamp clothing store.
