Opened in September, 1911 as the Victoria Theatre, this house was renamed the Palace Theatre in 1915 and presented vaudeville. It became the Gillis Theatre on October 31, 1921 operating as a movie theatre. It was closed in 1927 and was demolished to make way for Jack Marks' lavish new Ritz Theatre.
