A guide prepared for the 5th annual Lakewood History Walk (Quick View at Google Documents) says that the Homestead Tehatre was built in 1916. A couple of other sources say it was built in 1917, so maybe it was begun in 1916 and completed in 1917. It’s definitely pre-1920, though.
The history page of the Phantasy Concert Club’s web site has a photo of the theater as the Homestead, sometime in the mid-1950s. There are also some modern photos, including two (rather dark) of the auditorium.
In late February of 1974, the Homestead reopened as the Showboat Cinema West with a screening of LAST TANGO IN PARIS
Added some historic images from a City of Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board agenda requesting historic status for the building that housed the Homestead Theater. Thursday, September 24, 2020 http://www.onelakewood.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/LHABAgenda_092420.pdf
