County Cinema

Located in Kegworth, Leicestershire. The building was constructed in 1893 operating as a hall. It was converted into the Kegworth County Cinema which opened on 26th September 1921 with Mary Pickford in “The Eagle’s Mate”. Around 1930 it was equipped with a Marshall sound system. On 12th January 1942 it was taken over by Mrs. Frances Rose Hunt of Anstey, who operated several cinemas in Leicestershire & Warwickshire. In 1947 it was equipped with a AWH sound system. It was closed in Winter of 1962 and has since been demolished and housing built on the site.
