The Oakford Theatre launched October 2, 1920 with an open house and official opening two days later. Under new operators, the Sun Circuit opened the New Oakford Theatre on March 5, 1928. The theatre closed on January 20, 1931 when an arsonist torched the Oakford Theatre taking it and three other business in downtown.
