the State II was a separate “theater” that was inside a store basically. Only to further the porn flix being shown in other theaters. It also didn’t have the ‘action’ that went on in the original State next door up in the balcony for sure :)
I guess status should be Demolished then, since the State Theatre building is listed as that. Since the box sign reads Cinema, I wonder if State II Cinema should be the page name. That would separate it more from the State Theatre for the future as well.
Those interested in theater/cinema buildings today could easily assume that the State II must have been a second screen within the State Theatre (ex-Trans Lux/ Park). But it was not – it was located in a storefront in the same building, and almost certainly must have been under the same management as the State. I never went into it, but remember it there in the 1970s.
