Located in the north of the city centre, just to the north of the Arc de Triomphe. The Troyon Cinema was built and opened in the 1920’s and screened foreign films. During World War II (under the Nazi occupation of the city) it screened films which were banned. To celebrate the Liberation of Paris, it screened “Gone With the Wind”. In the 1950’s it attracted singers Edith Piaf and Yves Montand to its stage and continued to screen foreign films and was renamed Studio de l'Etoile.
In 1985 it became a private cinema club and was re-named Club de l'Etoile, affectionally known as the Star Club. In 2010 it was re-opened for the public and was renovated in 2015. Seating is provided for 151-seats in the orchestra and 27 VIP-seats in the balcony. In 2022 the employees bought the Club de l'Etoile from the previous owners and it is now run as a co-operative.
