Rebel Twin Drive-In

The Rebel Drive-In was opened on June 23, 1966 with Pat Cardi in “And Now Miguel” & Sidney Poitier in “A Patch of Blue”. This drive-in was operating as two screen drive-in drive-in by 1968. It was closed at the end of the 1976 season. Historic aerials show it was demolished by 1979 only the outline remains today.

I’m guessing this was the same drive-in, since the 1977 Motion Picture Almanac listed only the “Rebel Twin” for Carrollton.

Motion Picture Exhibitor, July 20, 1966: “The employes of the Rebel D-I which recently opened at Carrollton wear rebel uniforms while on duty.”
