Listed on the 1914 Sanborn, this theater appears to have been on the ground floor of a 2-story fraternal hall (possibly the Elks, who constructed a new hall just to the west in 1916). It does not appear on the 1906 map. The 1914-1915 edition of American Motion Picture Directory lists the Elite Theatre as being located on Water Street. The building has been heavily remodeled since, and is now one story with a nondescript front which might be from the 1940’s or 1950’s. It’s now a billiard hall.

On the 1906 and earlier maps, the street is called Water. By 1914, it is Tisman (sic), with ‘Water’ in parentheses. Street names seem to be pretty fluid on these maps, and I’m sure most people used the old name until they got used to the new one.
