Lee Drive-In

The Lee Drive-In opened April 20, 1953. It was built by Walter Droemer. The admission prices were fifty cents for adults and nine cents for children when it first opened. The first movie shown was “Montana Bell” starring Jane Russell. The first operator was C. W. Matson. She also operated the indoor theatre in town. In the late-1960’s Harold Parsley of Rockdale took over operating the drive-in until its closing. The last advertisement found for the drive was August 1971. The structures were torn down in the late-1970’s. An oil company uses the property now.

Nothing remained of the drive in since the late 70’s. No outline or any ramps. The property was taken over by an oilfield company in 1979 and any trace of the drive in was removed or bulldozed over.
