The July 30, 1955 issue of Billboard reported: “New drive-in at Prince Albert, Sask., is the Nor-Lite Drive-In, operated by Nor-Lite Drive-In Company, Ltd., with Alex Aaron, president, and Jack Lloyd, secretary-treasurer. It is associated with Famous Players Canadian Corporation, Ltd. Wide screen facilities have been installed”.
The 1956 Motion Picture Almanac listed a 300-car “Drive-In”, owned by P. W. Mahon, who also owned the 400-car Pines Drive-In in Prince Albert. The 1957 edition listed the Nor-Lite Drive-In, capacity 300, owner Strand Theatre Ltd. In 1958-63, the owner was back to P. W. Mahon, then the 1964-66 editions had the Nor-Lite Drive-In’s owner as F.P.C.C.

The Prince Albert Historical Society sent me a newspaper ad (uploaded to the Photos section) and a directory listing, which placed the Nor-Lite (definitely hyphenated) Drive-In Theatre at “No. 2 Highway, ½ mile south of City, Phone ROger 3-7494.” A Facebook commenter said it was where Canadian Tire is now, which matches that description. Therefore its modern-day address would be 3725 2 Ave W.
The PAHS correspondent wrote, “I can remember the last time I went to it was in 1972 and I believe it closed shortly after. Even at that time it was not open on a regular basis.”
