Hartford in Geneva County was home to the H&R Drive-In. It was located on the Hartford - Geneva Highway between those two cities which is also Route 52. The community area is known as Oak Grove not far from the Oak Grove Church. James A. Howell and O.A. Robbins formed the drive-in and used their last initials to form the ozoner’s name.
The H&R Drive-In had a soft-launch on May 4, 1950 and an official opening May 27, 1950. The drive-in had a 20-year lease and was operating into the 1960’s.
