The 1910 Sanborn shows a theater operating in one half of a 2-story brick commercial building, which was constructed sometime after 1899. By 1916, the theater had either switched from the southern to the northern storefront, or the first had closed and a new one had opened. At some point the building was demolished and replaced, or the second story was removed and the remainder remodeled.

The Idle Hour is the only theater listed at Salisbury in the 1914-1915 American Motion Picture Directory. Mr. Carl A. Barnert had bought a theater at Salisbury, according to the April 18, 1916 issue of The Moving Picture World, though the item did not give the theater’s name.
