Buxton's Picture Palace

The first cinema in Heanor, Derbyshire, known as Buxton’s Picture Palace, operated from 1908 by Fred Buxton in the 1867-built Heanor Town Hall. A British Film Institute(BFI) plaque commemorates the fact that this was the town’s first cinema. It was still open in 1914.
