Located on Broadleys opposite to the Palace Theatre in Clay Cross, to the south of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The Hippodrome Cinema was opened by 1928, presenting pictures & variety. The stage was 50ft deep and there were eight dressing rooms. It was burned down during World War II. The cinema was run by John Minney (who died in 1953).
