Located in Belper, Derbyshire. The Belper Picture Palace was opened by 1914. It had a 24ft wide proscenium, the stage was 18ft deep and there were three dressing rooms. By 1934 it had been re-named Palace Cinema and equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. It was operated by Thomas P. Morley. By 1953 it had been taken over by the Leeds based Star Cinemas chain. They closed the Palace Cinema in 1960.
It was demolished and a retail unit was built on the site. By 2009 this was a Wilkinson’s hardware store and there was a bar located at the rear of the premises.
