The 450-seat Majestic Theatre was a silent-era movie theatre in downtown New Haven. It closed in 1928 and was not converted to sound. The building was largely demolished and became the 600-seat Victory Theatre opening with sound films. By 1950 it had been renamed Avon Theatre with 440-seats.
